Maternity Department

Birthing partners of women in labour may attend for the birth.

Birthing partners can attend a caesarean section done under regional anaesthesia. This will be subject screening questions and wearing PPE in the theatre.

Partners only visiting on the antenatal and postnatal wards for 30 minutes from 7pm to 7.30pm. This is subject to screening questions and wearing a face mask in the ward area.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Only one parent can visit at a time.

Fathers’ visits are limited to 15 minutes.

Parents must wear a face mask in the clinical area.

Grandparents/children are not allowed to visit the NICU

The current visiting restrictions are kept under review and will be updated in line with national recommendations
